Bingo Numbers

Well I don't know about you but sometimes all these bingo number names and phrases can get me in to a right 2 and 8. Well if you get yourself in a bit of a pickle, never fear, we here to clarify things for you! In ye olden times, bingo numbers were often twinned with bingo sayings. I'm happy to say that in the majority of bingo halls in today's times will usually keep to calling the numbers rather than fancy sayings. Bingo callers will normally call 2 digit numbers by saying both numbers and then the number in its entirety, for example "five and five....fifty-five" Many of the old traditional sayings are based loosely on cockney rhyming slang. Most of the bingo sayings are pretty much obvious, for example Man alive...all together now....number 5!

Some sayings are based on the shape that the number makes, for example two eights together, gives the silhouette of two fat ladies, hence the saying!

So here comes the list which will guide to all the bingo sayings you could ever wish to know, just in case you find yourself back in the 1940's and are finding it difficult to keep up with the game play!

So what better place to start than at the beginning...
