The online version of the Gala Bingo land-based clubs (galabingo.com)  is introducing a new game to support it's team of employees who are going to trek to Everest base camp for charity in October. A 24-strong team will trek 75 miles and ascend to 2,700 metres to raise £100,000 for Gala Coral's charity Sue Ryder Care.

Many initiatives are taking place within the company who have a target of £1million to raise by 2010.

As of yesterday 27th August 2009 and for the next 8 weeks, 10% of bingo ticket sales from the new Everest link online bingo game will go towards the Everest fundraising total.
 
The Chief Executive at Sue Ryder Care, Paul Woodward said: “We’re delighted that a group of employees have volunteered to trek to Everest Base Camp to help raise vital funds for Sue Ryder Care. We hope as many people as possible support their fundraising effort through the dedicated bingo game. By supporting Sue Ryder Care, people across the country help us make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people we care for each year.”

The Trek will commence at Lukla on 16th October 2009 and finish at Everest Base Camp on 3rd November.

Sue Ryder Care supports people with specialist palliative, end of life and long-term neurological care needs.

Each year they provide 4 million hours of care to people living with cancer, multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, stroke and brain injury.
