Bingo News: Mobile Technology proves popular with Bingo players
Recent research by one of the most recognised and independent online bingo portals has been conducted to find out the response to mobile bingo by online bingo players these results have been surprising as they indicate that those polled were fully prepared for the introduction of mobile bingo.
The survey, conducted by Bingoport, revealed that 47 percent of online bingo players asked, owned an internet enabled mobile device and even though data usage costs used to factor in players reluctance to play online games, 34 percent of those polled would readily play bingo for real money on a mobile phone.
Mobile technology has come on in leaps and bounds thanks to online gaming companies who offer casino games such as roulette and blackjack as well as popular slot machines. The information collected confirmed that 30 percent of bingo players would be prepared to play mobile slots for money.
In 2010 mobile based gambling achieved £41 Million in revenue, double the previous year's figures when mobile gaming made £19 Million. Many industry insiders believe that mobile gaming is behind the continued growth of the online gambling sector and will continue to grow.
Android mobile phone devices account for 65 percent of bingo player's with internet enabled phones, whilst Blackberrys made up 19 percent and the iPhone made up the smallest share with just 16 percent.
Mobile bingo gives bingo players the chance to play their favourite bingo games any time they choose and any where they like. The only concern payers seem to have about playing online games, is connectivity which can become a problem in areas of little or no signal. Fortunately, if players do lose signal, their game will be put on hold until their signal is restored, when they continue playing.
If his research is anything to go by, mobile bingo looks set to be big news for the foreseeable future especially with the constant advance in mobile technology.
