Two the the biggest gambling firms in the country are celebrating their huge success in 2010. Both William Hill and Rank Group have both had an amazing year after reaching record sales figures.

Mecca Bingo who are one of Rank's bingo sites earned more than £55,000 in it's land based bingo halls after having 911,000 customers in 2010 which is the most visitors they've recorded in nearly 10 years.

William Hill who are thought to be the UK's top bookmakers recorded a 60% rise to over £190,000 taking their sales to £1,000,710,000.

One of William Hill's spokespeople said “New gaming machines and online betting helped offset a 3% fall in over-the-counter sales. Our continuing investment in technology has underpinned growth.”

William Hill and Rank Group are at the top of their game and have set the standard by which many of their competitors are striving to achieve. These recent reports only reinforce this further and many of their rivals will struggle to achieve close to their success.

We will have to wait and see if 2011 is as prosperous for both companies and whether this marks an increase in players visiting their local bingo halls although we will probably have to wait until next year to see if this is the case.
