Glamour Bingo Review

Glamour Bingo takes a very different visual approach to its competitors with a dark, star-spangled background behind Vegas-style menu panels, reminiscent of some of the glitzier online casinos – and why not? There’s an abundance of pastel and pink bingo sites, so its time someone tried a different approach. It’s powered by the impressive Plex Gaming software, which – whilst used for more than one site – is by no means common.

It’s a Flash site and works well in any browser, with fairly easy navigation. Though the whole site does look slightly dated it’s still easy on the eye, and had some interesting ideas that we’ve not seen elsewhere: For instance, there’s a members gallery, with photos to view if you’re interested in what your chat room buddies look like – a nice touch. They also make a point of letting you know that site is Mac-friendly, which we also approved of highly.

In common with other sites powered by the same software there’s no banking section. The icons at the bottom of lobby page tell you that they’ll take Visa, Mastercard, UKash, Neteller, Instadebit, Moneybookers, Paysafe or ClickandBuy for deposits – though withdrawals don’t seem to be covered, and they were not mentioned in the FAQs either.  First deposits are topped up with a 350% welcome bonus and there's 75% bonus available on reloads over £10.

The playing environment itself comes in really soothing, tasteful shades of blue with a functionally-attractive look about it that nonetheless retains a slightly Vegas-type feel, at least making your eyes think you’re playing somewhere glamorous even if you’re sitting at home in your pyjamas eating a Pot Noodle, and we could all do with that feeling once in a while…

There ten varieties of game: Take your pick from 75 and 90 ball free games that can be funded or not, plus 75 and 90 ball games at 1p or 5p. There’s also 30 and 80 ball games, so plenty to choose from and prizes at the time of writing ranged from £1 to nearly £20, with jackpots going up to £2,500.

There’s also over 25 slots to play, with some classic titles including some standout offerings like Pharaoh’s Gold, Coins of Rome and Buried Treasure – and around 20 instant win games as well.

In the casino section you’ll find Blackjack and Caribbean Stud Poker for the table game enthusiasts, along with 8 videopoker games and Keno. It’s a decent selection of side games that’ll keep you busy if you’re not playing bingo or chatting, and the selection ranks above average when compared to its peer group.

Customer support comes via an email form or a live chat facility – there’s no phone number, but as there is more than one site using the same facility it’s fairly safe to assume that queries will be dealt with promptly. There also a reasonably-sized FAQ section, though it wasn’t easy to find: It’s actually tucked away at the bottom of the screen, in a bronze font along with some other links. To be honest, we’ve reviewed other sites using the Plex Gaming platform and their FAQs were better.

The promos on this site were hard to find. They initially appear to be accessible by clicking on each of the 10 games to see promos that relate to each one, although all this really does it bring up different game varieties rather than what you’d normally expect to see. Eventually we found the real promotions, in a small strip along the top of the panel on the lobby screen, and found that you’re offered a 350% first deposit bonus and 75% reload bonus, payable daily if you make daily deposits.

This site takes a very different approach in its presentation, and offers and above-average selection of bingo games, with plenty of side games as well making for a superior selection. It’s not quite as upmarket as it thinks it is; would anything especially glamorous actually use the ‘glamour’ in its name? Of course not, but this is the world of online gaming and the rules are slightly different. Nonetheless once you get playing it’s got a much more refined feel to it than any other site we’ve used – if they can just overhaul the front end slightly it’ll make all the difference. Think of this site as an old 5 star hotel and you get the idea: Faded glamour rather than the shiny, new variety – which needn’t be a bad thing: The best joints in town always have an established air about them, otherwise they wouldn’t have any character…
