Feel Real and Win Big at Beacon Bingo

By Vicky Duncalf - October 6 2012

I am always interested to unearth the history of various sites, and this time round, I’m doing a little archaeology on Beacon Bingo. I’ve played a few of their land-based clubs, and it’s always been a great experience. Beacon was founded in 1963, with the first club opening in 1966. In 1978, the first purpose-built club in the UK was built in West London. From there, Beacon went on to open the biggest and most successful club in the world, at Cricklewood, north London.

With so many youngsters signing up to play online, it’s easy to forget that land-based versions of our favourite clubs exist, and there is no doubt about it, many are struggling in this current economic climate. So do your local economy a favour, get the gang together and go and play there – support your local club!

But before you do that, be sure to check out the online version of Beacon – every Saturday, you can indulge in Saturday Night Fever. This plays from 8 PM in the Cricklewood room and you can play seriously cheap games plus Superbooks games, where you upgrade free tickets for a couple of pence.

Oh, and don’t forget to say hello to Beaky, their cute little parrot mascot as well – take him a few crackers, and he will see you right with a free bingo bonus.
