Every year the Rank Group, probably better known to you as Mecca Bingo, chooses a charity partner and last year they did this by getting their staff members to choose. They obviously chose Marie Curie Cancer Centre and they have just announced that for the second year running this fund raising partnership will continue. Cancer is something that is very close to home, many of us have lost loved ones and close friends to this illness in all of its forms – so these efforts are appreciated as well as most apt. Bingo has a history of being used to raise funds for those in need and as Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casinos have managed to bust their fund raising budget from £200,000 to £270,000 they might as well continue this very good work.
The initiative for these fund raising activities has been contributed to by both Mecca Bingo staff and club members, the entire community gets involved and this means online bingo players at Mecca can also become involved. Some bingo clubs have even used poker games to get their fund raising events off the ground – who says poker is a game for the bad boys and girls? CEO of Rank Group – Ian Burk is justifiably proud of the generosity and team spirit shown by members and staff. So, it's a big WELL DONE to everyone at Mecca Bingo!!
