Here at Best Offers Bingo, we strive for all things that are simply just the best. And since we’ve just welcomed in the New Year and wrapped up 2015 with the release of the latest Star Wars film, we felt like it was the right time to unveil the best films of 2015.

So if you’re a film fanatic who loves to indulge in movies, then you’ve come to the right place. Whether it’s to suss an intriguing and complicated plotline, or simply just a nostalgia hit, we have gathered the best films that were released last year.


5. Inside Out


An American 3D computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed and co-written by Pete Docter, co-directed and co-written by Ronnie del Carmen, and produced by Jonas Rivera. Ranked as 8.3 out of 10, the plot features the mind of a young girl called Riley Anderson, where her emotions of joy, sadness, fear, anger, and disgust are personified and conflict try to lead her through life as she moves to a new city, house, and school.


4. Sicario


Sicario, the Spanish word for ‘hitman’, is an American action crime film, directed by Denis Villeneuve. The story features a principled FBI agent who is enlisted by a government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Starring Emily Blunt, Benicio del Tori, and Josh Brolin. The film has been rated as 7.8 out of 10 and has been selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.


3. The Martian


An American science-fiction film, directed by Ridley Scott. The film is based on Andy Wier’s 2011 novel The Martian. The storyline features features a manned mission to Mars, in which Matt Damon stars as an astronaut who is mistakenly presumed dead after a fierce storm. Without realising he has survived, his crew leave him behind. The film depicts the astronauts struggle to survive on the hostile planet and others’ efforts to rescue him. The film stars a number of award-winning actors and actresses and has been rated as 8.1 out of 10.


2. Mad Max: Fury Road

An action film which is directed, produced, and written by George Miller. The film is the fourth installment in the Mad Max franchise. Set in a future desert wasteland, where gas and water are scarce. The storyline portrays Max, played by Tom Hardy who joins forces with an elite Imperator called Furiosa in order to escape the cult leader Immortan and his army in an armoured tanker truck. This ultimately leads to a lengthy road battle to try and outrun the ruthless warlord and his henchmen in a deadly high-speed chase through the wasteland. This film has been ranked as 8.2 out of 10.


1. Star Wars: The Force Awakens


Taking the lead at number 1 is the American epic space opera film, directed, co-produced, and co-written by J. J. Abrams. This is the 7th installment in the main Star Wars series, which depict the adventures of various characters a long time ago in a galaxy far away. Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance. This has been the most popular film of 2015 and is ranked at 8.5 out of 10.

So 2015 was a fine year for the film industry. It offered up some great titles, scattered across a diverse range of genres from a lot of incredible writers. And now you know the most popular ones, you can be sure that when you sit down to watch a movie, it will sure be worth your time. So another year is in store for us, but which films will take the lead and be titled as the ‘best’ this year?
